I knew the tune to Scotland the Brave long before I knew it had anything to do with the country of Scoltand.  Some Mormon lyricist used the song as the tune to a Mormon hymn long ago.  Now, it is a rather strange hymn, especially since it seems to be almost exclusively about Joseph Smith, Jr.  It has almost led to a few embarrassing incidents, including one where I almost sang those lyrics as a bagpipe band walked by.  In fact, I only learned there were a completely different set of lyrics to the song a few days ago.

Now, this is not the first time I've had to correct or had someone else correct my knowledge of lyrics. For example, R.E.M. never produced a song about how "Shiny Happy People Get Me Down," even though those lyrics make far more sense to me than the ones the band actually sung. I'm sure my lyrical substitutions in the latter case reveal more about my personality than they do about Michael Stipe's ability to sing coherent lyrics.

Now, it's off I go to do various things, including find suitable clothes, go put in applications, and see if I can make any progress calling the IUPUI School of Dentistry to see if they can do something about the bad teeth.  This may or may not happen after a nap
