I spent the day playing in one Werewolf: the Apocalypse and one Vampire: the Requiem live action rople playing session. These games seem to be less PvP-oriented than similar games I've played in the past, which suits me well. I did not care for the player versus player modes in WoW, Everquest, or World of Warcraft.

Now, there was not anything of note that took place during these sessions that would be of interest to non-gamers. A good time was had by all, no one was accidentally outed, and a few snacks were brought in for people's February birthdays.  I even had a chance to experience some schadenfruede, although  I can't help but feel guilty about it at the same time.

After the games ended, the group stopped at Denny's and discussions continued.  (Purely by accident I ended up at one of the perfect dining spots for a left-handed person .)

All of this interests no one, and I will not explain why I experienced schadenfreude. The point is i got home at 2 a.m.  I was, at least before, a night owl by nature. Late nights do not bother me.  I crawled into my bed and managed to get to sleep without any sleep aids. I repeated the wake-up, sleep, wake-up, sleep pattern that has become common for me and found I rolled out of bed just before 2 p.m.

Now, I'm just wondering if taking a shower is actually worth it. I could go out to play board games at the local gaming shop/pizza store,  or I could forgo showering and go back to bed.

The shower is sometimes the thing that stands between me and doing something I'd otherwise like to do. It takes some physical energy, but mainly it's all the mental energy showers take me that really does me in.

I don't blame you. That's why I didn't go back to bed this morning.

I don't know if this would help, but I take ear plugs with me in my purse for such occasions, since in addition to loud noise draining my energy super fast, it makes it even harder for me to understand what the people around me are saying. If you want me to, I could dig up links to the two kinds I use (one disposable silicone putty, the other non-disposable silicone-rubber inserts).

Sorry for the late reply, I've had an amazingly busy week together with having to sleep way more than usual. Anyway, I saw the good news that your housemate is going to get her hearing checked. Hope she believes them when they tell her that she's got hearing loss (because she almost certainly does).
