For your sake, I'm happy the cold weather is over where you live. Where I live, the last of the cold weather — such as it has been this winter — is a precious thing and soon to be mourned as it leaves: I fervently wish we had AC here!!!

Warmer weather is always nice, and I much prefer Spring and Summer to winter. At least it's just been cold in the Midwest. We didn't get as much snow as New England did.

You don't have AC in your apartment? Are you allowed a window air conditioner at least?

The problem is that there aren't any sash windows in my apartment anywhere. So I'd have to get one of those fancy portable AC units and have a special vertical insert built to stick into the sideways-opening window in my room so that I could seal the area around the heat hose. Portable AC units are expensive, and having a special insert built would also be super expensive. So it's not happening.

They do make indoor AC units that aren't that much more expensive than window models. You have to empty them like you would a dehumidifier, however.

You could always come here. This house has central AC. Of course, the problem is that you'd be in Terre Haute and in a deep red state.

The last bit was intended to be a joke if it wasn't clear. I'm not sure why I like Terre Haute. It's a strange feeling, and I'd have a hard time explaining it to anyone.

It's good to know you like your home. That's one thing I'm grateful for. I like living here in this city and in this particular apartment.
