For many people, electrolytes and 2 to 3 liters of water a day are enough. Not everyone needs to salt load.
In my case, even having about a tablespoon of extra salt each day (divided up into four doses per day, one dose with each meal and one dose at bedtime), my blood pressure at the doctor's office yesterday was 120 over 60. So yeah, my body does not like to hang onto salt, nor water. Someday if this keeps getting worse, I may need to start taking a miniralcorticoid to help my body retain fluids better. But in the mean time, I'm glad the treatment is pretty easy.
