That wasn't so bad after all -- dentists and local anesthetics
It's been a busy week. Despite this, I manage to get the dental appointment in today. I was kind of nervous when all of the drills were brought out, and i was even more nervous when she mentioned needles. However, I let her do it, realizing that cavities do not go away on their own, and it's often worse to have a tooth extracted than it is to have it filled.
I made it through the appointment. The needles weren't pleasant, but they were not the Medieval torture that i expected. It took a while, but I was able to walk home. Now I'm just waiting for the local anesthetics to wear off. I'll have to treat myself to something Monday. Although porpoises are fond of chocolate-covered pretzels in ice cream, I think a non-food reward might be in order. Do not believe the fishing industry propaganda about porpoises liking herrings.

Yes, I'm pretty blown away and happy and relieved, and so on. They didn't call yesterday or today, so I'm guessing it'll be Monday before I get it back. But that's okay since I'm at a Zen retreat this weekend and won't be spending much time online anyway.
