Another one is “you can never go home”, meaning it's not the same as when you were a kid, even if the house is still there and your parents and siblings are all there for Thanksgiving. While it may bring back memories, everyone is older, time has passed. The house may have been fixed up over time, the neighborhood isn't the same, and so on.
